Got Teenagers? How To Help Them Adapt To Employment Evolution
If you have teenagers in your family – child, grandchild, niece/nephew – take the next few minutes to watch this message from me. This is something I wish I’d had as a teen (would have avoided that dreadful hot tub business incident in 1979).
BTW, watching this and looking through the site – these guys understand teenagers.

A Plea: Help Kids & Help Yourself
My friend (yes, a real friend – not a “friend”) in Chennai, India saves little kids’ lives. Dr Mani is a heart surgeon who raises money online to operate on little kids with heart defects. These are the children of parents who would never in a lifetime be able to afford the surgery – imagine how heartbreaking that would be (Please see the story below).

Dr Mani relaxing with me in Bali (Not the big, ugly guy – the good-looking guy on the right)
Now, David Perdew of NAMS has opened a new giveaway event to raise money to help Dr Mani perform more surgeries (You’ll remember NAMS as the event I went to in Atlanta early this year). You are invited to be a contributor in this event. With all the attention this event will be getting, you’ll get terrific exposure. It’s free, but for just $17 you can upgrade to better positioning and the ability to add up to 3 gifts. Talk about cheap advertising (Only $17? Wow!) And, your $17 will go to a fantastic cause.
Note: Any commissions I receive are also being returned to the pot. I want every cent to go help these kids (see below).
Click here to go join as a contributor now. (Not to worry, if you aren’t ready to join, you can still be part of this on August 20th – lots of great gifts and a chance to help the kids)
Here’s one of the latest children saved by Dr Mani. I present 2-year old Priyadarshini and her story:

Not quite smiling, but then you can’t blame little PRIYADARSHINI – she’s barely two years old! The weak, malnourished girl weighed just 7 kilograms, her heart laboring under the strain of an overload of blood rushing through her large Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD).
The pressure in her lungs had built up to the point where breathing itself was hard work, and she fell sick frequently with chest colds, needing hospitalization once for an attack of pneumonia.
Her parents, daily wage laborers in a village near Kanchipuram, couldn’t afford the expense of heart surgery. But thanks to the sponsored scheme of the State Government aided by support from generous donors, the Dr.Mani Children Heart Foundation was able to carry out her surgery.
She sailed through like a star, recovering fast from an operation that typically will keep an adult grounded for a week or longer! And as the family prepared to leave hospital a week later, the relief on her parents’ faces is silent testimony to the power of your help and support.
Thank you from my heart for making this happen.
Rieko and I get a great feeling, knowing that our contributions have helped save a number of these sweet children. You too can do your part. Trust me, it does feel good. Go to:

Weekend Shopping Center Serendipity Assignment
This weekend, I have an assignment for you: Go to the mall … or shopping center, department store, shopping type place.
And, it’s not just to enjoy the cool, air-conditioned atmosphere and a refreshing summer beverage in the food court. It’s a serendipity walk.
Take your notebook and pencil or pen. Then, without doing any actual shopping, wander through the mall – and observe.
What kind of people do you see in the mall? What is the main demographic? What are they buying? Where do they hang out the most?
What products are hot right now? How are stores attracting shoppers? What kinds of signs or displays grab attention? What messages are being used?
How are sales people selling? What techniques are they using? What seems to work well? What is a turn off?
In general, what are stores doing well? What are they doing poorly?
Follow Up
Then, consider what ideas you can pull from these observations – for your own marketing, products, sales pages, YouTube videos, etc. Make it your goal to come up with at least one really good idea this weekend.
Post your idea here in the comments. Let’s see who has the best serendipity this weekend. And, apply your idea to your business.

PCL Members Invitation: Are You Going To Join Me For Dinner In Osaka?
Not many Product Creation Labs members make the trek, but when you do there’s an open invitation. I will take you out to dinner. I’ll make sure you get a taste of the local fare – real Osaka food (OK, no worries, I won’t have you eating sea cucumber or live squirmy things). However, if you travel all the way to here, I am more than happy to take you out for a great local meal.
Wal Gifford was here in April. As you can see by our jackets, it hadn’t warmed up yet at that time. He was staying in a hotel in the Kyobashi area, so I went up and met him, and we went to my favourite place in Kyobashi. It’s a tiny little place with a stand-up bar – not a seat in the place (No room for seats). And, we gorged on deep-fried delicacies. Plus, we had our fill of Chu Hai (Note: We never let the ice cubes melt in our glasses, LOL).
Wal has been a member for a while and a great member at the Video Production Lab Workshop. Like so many of my members, just a great person to be around. To take members like this out to dinner is an honour for me.

A few days ago, I finally got to meet my first ever Product Creation Labs member in person – another great honour. Nick Kemp, of Australia, had been living in the Gifu area of Japan when he purchased my first product in the product creation/online marketing niche. He was back here to visit his old stomping grounds and finally got to the wonderful metropolis of Osaka. We met up in the afternoon, and Nick interviewed me for close to an hour. We’re melting in the great rainy season muginess at a local temple (One of the few quiet spots in my city) and we had the seven lucky gods for our backdrop.
Later, I met up with Nick in the evening and took him to a local Okonomiyaki restaurant. Okonomiyaki is a unique Osaka dish. It looks like a large cabbage and batter pancake, with added options – like pork or Kimchi. Cooked on a hot table in front of you (Yes, not the best thing to choose on a hot rainy season day) these are a filling meal.

So? When are you coming to Osaka? We are the foodie capital of Japan. Mmmmmm.
